{"id":86971,"date":"2025-04-02T14:48:39","date_gmt":"2025-04-02T19:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/?post_type=event&#038;p=86971"},"modified":"2025-04-02T14:48:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T19:48:39","slug":"iao-retained-primitive-reflexes","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/event\/iao-retained-primitive-reflexes\/","title":{"rendered":"IAO Retained Primitive Reflexes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Primitive reflexes are either retained from birth or childhood because they do not integrate for some reason or because the person has enough trauma to cause the body to regress and bring the reflex back.\u00a0They can contribute to many symptoms in the patient and have even been misdiagnosed as autism, ADHD and cerebral palsy.<\/p>\n<p>There are 70 documented reflexes that should integrate into the body.\u00a0We will explore around 20 of those reflexes in the course.\u00a0Using a principle-based approach means that physicians can look up the symptoms and tests of the reflexes that are not covered in the course and immediately be able to treat them.<\/p>\n<p>What makes our course unique is that we demonstrate how to evaluate and treat integration problems (brain \u201cwiring\u201d issues), spiritual issues (belief system challenges), emotional issues (overwhelming emotion) and physical issues (such as trauma).\u00a0This treatment approach generates results far faster than other approaches.\u00a0It also allows physicians to help understand the \u201cstory\u201d the retained reflexes are telling: was the reflex retained from birth, or has it come back due to trauma?\u00a0Treating the retained reflexes can profoundly impact the patient and help to release trauma and restrictions that no other treatment can.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Primitive reflexes are either retained from birth or childhood because they do not integrate for some reason or because the person has enough trauma to cause the body to regress and bring the reflex back.\u00a0They can contribute to many symptoms in the patient and have even been misdiagnosed as autism, ADHD and cerebral palsy.
