{"id":63794,"date":"2021-06-21T15:42:12","date_gmt":"2021-06-21T20:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/?page_id=63794"},"modified":"2025-04-21T09:18:02","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T14:18:02","slug":"diversity-equity-and-inclusion-dei-unification-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/about\/aoa-awards\/diversity-equity-and-inclusion-dei-unification-award\/","title":{"rendered":"DEI Unification Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The AOA is pleased to <a href=\"https:\/\/aoaforms.formstack.com\/forms\/deiaward_2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accept nominations<\/a> for its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Unification Award.<\/p>\n<p>This award will be presented to one individual and one organization that has proven exemplary leadership and commitment to promoting and advancing DEI initiatives in the osteopathic community.<\/p>\n<h3>How to nominate<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aoaforms.formstack.com\/forms\/deiaward_2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nominations<\/a> may be submitted on the candidate\u2019s behalf with their permission and must include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Curriculum vitae or r\u00e9sum\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Description of how the candidate or organization has advanced DEI initiatives in the osteopathic community, which could include but is not limited to:\n<ul>\n<li>Raising awareness about the challenges and opportunities related to DEI in the osteopathic profession.<\/li>\n<li>Working to increase opportunities for demographical groups historically underrepresented in osteopathic medicine.<\/li>\n<li>Developing DEI programs, resources and tools for an organization or the profession.<\/li>\n<li>Advocating for underrepresented minorities in osteopathic medicine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Letter of recommendation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Eligibility requirements<\/h3>\n<p>Candidates will fulfill the following eligibility requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a contributing member to the osteopathic community with significant and demonstrable contributions to the DEI field.<\/li>\n<li>Be an AOA member in good standing.<\/li>\n<li>AOA-board certification is preferred when applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nominations should be submitted by Monday, May 19, 2025.
