\"\"The AOA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to certify education and issue CME credit to physicians. The AOA’s Division of Physician Education and CME is charged with ensuring that CME programming delivered by the AOA is evidence-based, relevant to clinicians’ needs and independent of commercial influence.<\/p>\n

In addition to AOA Category 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B credit, the AOA now offers AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™\u00a0<\/i><\/strong>for CME provided directly or through joint providership with its constituencies. ACCME defines joint providership as the offering of a CME activity by one or more accredited and one or more non-accredited organizations. All joint providership CME activities must be consistent with the AOA’s CME mission and comply with ACCME standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

To serve the needs of osteopathic physicians by continually striving to offer educational programs that explore the latest clinical advances and developments in medicine, refine physician skills, deepen physicians\u2019 understanding of the osteopathic medical profession, meet ongoing certification requirements and improve patient care.<\/span><\/p>\n
