However there are many easy ways to add video to the telehealth encounter which will provide you more information to make an assessment and also earn higher reimbursement rate. Consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/COVID-19-practice-guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Telehealth Guide<\/span><\/a> for guidance on HIPAA and reimbursement for these visits, and learn your state guidelines as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Free services for video consultations<\/h3>\n<p>The following free services can be used to begin video sessions with patients. This is a simple list of platforms offering their services to physicians during the pandemic and should not be considered a list of endorsed products.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bluestream Health<\/strong><br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluestreamhealth.com\/rapid-response\/?utm_source=AOA&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=rapid_response\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Bluestream<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s3\"> Health gives AOA members free access to HIPAA-compliant video sessions with patients during the COVID-19 crisis. Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluestreamhealth.com\/rapid-response\/?utm_source=AOA&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=rapid_response\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s4\">Bluestream<\/span><\/a>, enter your email address and full name to create a platform that allows you to send a secure invite to your patient via text or email. The patient clicks on the link to begin the video session.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Doxy.me <\/strong><br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/doxy.me\/features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Doxy.me<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s3\"> offers three account types. The free basic account provides HIPAA-compliant video sessions, a virtual waiting room, and a chat feature. Free trial access to the paid services is available for the first 30 days.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Facetime, Zoom, Skype<\/strong><br \/>\n<span class=\"s2\">CMS has temporarily waived enforcement of HIPAA for telehealth, so a provider or patient with these platforms may use them in the short term. Some examples:<\/span>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Do not send information over a public wifi network<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Do not send personal information using text or email without encryption<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Be sure no one on your end of the call can see or hear the patient visit.
