AOA urges Congress to protect Medicaid program<\/a>
\nThe AOA, representing over 150,000 osteopathic physicians, recently called for the preservation of the Medicaid program. The statement reads, in part, \u201cMedicaid is a lifeline for our nation\u2019s most vulnerable \u2026 To that end, it is of the utmost importance that Congress protect this vital program.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly 20 states and cities designate December as Osteopathic Medicine Month<\/a>
\nIn recognition of nearly 200,000 osteopathic physicians (DOs) and medical students in the U.S., 19 states and cities across the nation are observing December 2024 as Osteopathic Medicine Month. This designation recognizes the 150th anniversary of osteopathic medicine<\/a>, which applies a distinctive philosophy and approach to caring for patients in all areas of medicine, including primary care, surgery and specialty fields.<\/p>\n
