Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/osteopathic.org\/life-career\/osteopathic-research\/research-funding-opportunities\/\">grant opportunities<\/a> for physicians, fellows, residents and osteopathic medical students, as well as new investigators.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grants supported three designated focus areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">OMM\/OMT on the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injuries: Proposals should improve the scientific basis of the mechanics and impact of osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) and osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) on the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injuries through clinical, translational or basic science research.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">Acute\/chronic pain management: Proposals should explore the osteopathic approaches to acute and chronic pain management, emphasizing treatments and patient outcomes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">The impact of the osteopathic approach on chronic disease and elderly care: Proposals should explore the impact of the osteopathic approach on chronic disease and elderly care through clinical, translational or basic science research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Grant periods range from six to 18 months.
